It is no joke the amount of wild dogs and other animals running around the Oceanview community. Look at our Facebook pages and there are postings everyday of animals that are found that are in need of a home and/or medical treatment. Add onto that the amount of animals that are mistreated and it is obvious that we need to intercede on their behalf. We are lucky enough to have a few people that are doing the best they can do providing love, food and sanctuary in their own homes, and it costs them dearly monetarily to provide these services, but they still do it regardless.
Our Goal
To purchase land and to build a combination large animal sanctuary where these animals can be sheltered, fed, medically taken care of, de-sensitized and re-trained so they can then be re-homed to responsible individuals.
The Cost
Not going to lie to you, to build this facility and bring in a full time veterinarian and techs, along with full time animal trainers, and everything else needed to make this a successful endeavor is expensive. And there will be ongoing expenses to keep it operating and available to all.
Where will this money come from?
The way we are going to fund this is a succession of raffles to raise the needed funds to make this a success. Our first raffle prize for this project is a supercharged 2001 Jaguar XKR convertible with only 51,574 miles on it (although the mileage may climb as we take it to the jaguar dealer, detailing shop, etc.) Sadly, we were able to acquire this vehicle from the estate of an acquaintance where it sat garaged for the past 10 years. Click on the button at the bottom of the page to see more and be directed to the raffle conducted by a professional third party raffle management company.
2001 Jaguar XKR Convertible
This Jaguar had been sitting stored in a garage for the past 10 years, we acquired it specifically for the raffle. Even if a vehicle has not been operated there is still some wear and tear such as rubber deterioration brought about by time and by the very fact that nothing is moving. We have replaced the tires, brake calipers, brake pads, brake rotors, all hoses and belts, fuel lines, fuel pumps and cleaned the fuel tank (gas turns to varnish if not used for this period of time) and had it checked out by a Jaguar dealer as well as had the paint buffed and a protectant applied and had the interior detailed. It is ready for you to drive upon delivery.
** We use Zeffy for our raffles, they are geared towards non-profits. As such, all funds go to the Non-Profit, there is a choice on the raffle site to "Help keep Zeffy Free" with a drop down menu for a voluntary donation to keep Zeffy operating in the manner, we would appreciate an additional $1.00 contribution to them.**
*** If the winner is not in the USA or USA territories we will deliver to the customs port of your choice, but getting it through customs is the responsibility of the winner***
